Στα "πράσινα" ο Χριστοφιδέλης

Ο Κώστας Χριστοφιδέλης θα γίνει ο δεύτερος παίκτης που θα αποχωρήσει από τον Ολυμπιακό για λογαριασμό του Παναθηναϊκού, μετά τον Αχιλλέα Παπαδημητρίου.

Ο Αλέκος Λεώνης είχε θετική γνώμη για τον Κώστα Χριστοφιδέλη δίνοντας το πράσινο φως για την απόκτηση του και δεν κρύβει την ικανοποίηση του για την επίτευξη της συμφωνίας. Πλέον, απομένουν τα τυπικά για την ολοκλήρωση της μεταγραφής και σήμερα το πολύ αύριο θα έχει υπογράψει το νέο του συμβόλαιο με τον Παναθηναϊκό.

Mπάρανεκ :"θα δώσω τον καλύτερο μου εαυτό"

Την ικανοποίηση του που θα αγωνιστεί το ελληνικό πρωτάθλημα με τη φανέλα του Ηρακλή εξέφρασε ο νέος ακραίος του Ηρακλή Καμίλ Μπάρανεκ στις πρώτες του δηλώσεις μετά και τη μεταγραφή του στην κυανόλευκη ομάδα. «Είμαι ιδιαίτερα ικανοποιημένος και χαρούμενος για την ευκαιρία που μου δίνεται. Το να αγωνιστώ σε μία ομάδα τόσο μεγάλη όπως είναι ο Ηρακλής είναι πρόκληση για μένα. Είμαι έτοιμος να δώσω τον καλύτερο μου εαυτό για να μπορέσει η ομάδα να πετύχει τους στόχους της. Για μένα ο Ηρακλής και η συμμετοχή μου στο ελληνικό πρωτάθλημα είναι μία νέα εμπειρία», είπε αρχικά ο Τσέχος αθλητής και συμπλήρωσε:

«Για μένα η απόφαση να έρθω στον Ηρακλή ήταν πολύ εύκολη. Δεν υπήρχε σύγκριση με τις υπόλοιπες προτάσεις που μου έγιναν. Ο Ηρακλής είναι μία από τις κορυφαίες ομάδες της Ευρώπης. Εδώ και χρόνια πρωταγωνιστεί στο Τσάμπιονς Λιγκ. Δεν είναι τυχαίο ότι βρίσκεται στην ελίτ του Ευρωπαϊκού βόλει μαζί με πανίσχυρες ομάδες όπως είναι οι Ιταλικές και οι Ρώσικες. Είναι η πιο δημοφιλής ελληνική ομάδα στην Ευρώπη. Παρακολούθησα με μεγάλο ενδιαφέρον το φάιναλ φορ του Τσάμπιονς Λιγκ στην Πράγα. Ήδη την προσπάθεια του Ηρακλή στον τελικό και εντυπωσιάστηκα και από τις αγωνιστικές δυνατότητες αλλά και από την παρουσία του κόσμου. Ο Ηρακλής διαθέτει ίσως του περισσότερους οπαδούς από τους υπόλοιπους συλλόγους που συμμετέχουν στην Ευρώπη. Χαίρομαι που τη νέα χρονιά θα παίζω μπροστά σε ένα τέτοιο κοινό, όπως είναι οι οπαδοί του Ηρακλή». Όσο τι γνωρίζει για τη νέα του ομάδα ο Καμίλ Μπάρανεκ τόνισε: «Έχω πληροφορηθεί πως εκτός από εμένα στην ομάδα τη νέα χρονιά θα είναι ο συμπατριώτης μου Γιούρι Κραλ, ο Ματία Γκασπαρίνι, ο Γιοσλέιντερ Κάλα και ο Αντρέι Κράβαρικ. Όλοι μαζί θα προσπαθήσουμε για το καλύτερο δυνατό. Αυτή θα είναι η πρώτη φορά που θα συνεργαστώ με τον Ολλανδό προπονητή Χάρι Μπρόκινγκ. Ωστόσο οι πληροφορίες που μάζεψα για το νέο μου προπονητή είναι πολύ καλές. Επειδή πριν από χρόνια αγωνίστηκε στο γαλλικό πρωτάθλημα έμαθα ότι είναι ένας πολύ εργατικός προπονητής, ο οποίος δουλεύει σκληρά μέσα στο γήπεδο. Ελπίζω να έχουμε μία πολύ καλή συνεργασία».

Αναφορικά με τη νέα χρονιά ο νέος παίκτης του Γηραιού τόνισε: «Ξέρω πως η φετινή χρονιά θα είναι δύσκολο γιατί το ελληνικό πρωτάθλημα είναι εξίσου ανταγωνιστικό. Γνωρίζω πως εκτός από τον Ηρακλή υπάρχουν άλλες δύο ή τρεις δυνατές ομάδες. Αυτό όμως μας δίνει κίνητρο για να παλέψουμε ακόμα περισσότερο και να οδηγήσουμε τον Ηρακλή στην κορυφή. Αυτό που μπορώ να υποσχεθώ εγώ είναι θα δώσω τον καλύτερο μου εαυτό έτσι ώστε να κερδίσω τίτλους για μένα, την ομάδα μου, και τον κόσμο μας».

DOL in Vienna also for the CEV Cups

There is a very special and exciting event coming up for all volleyball fans and slated for next June 26 in Vienna. The 2009 European Volleyball Gala, to be staged in the magnificent scenario of the local Town Hall, will host not only the traditional Drawing of Lots for the 2009/2010 CEV Indesit Champions League but also – and this is a real premiere – the first DOL ever live-televised for the CEV Cups.
Such an intense evening for the European volleyball family will tip off with the DOL for the CEV Cups, starting out with the women’s division to proceed then with the men and finally continue with the much awaited definition of the preliminary pools to be arranged for the most prestigious volleyball club competition worldwide, i.e. the Champions League.
Representatives of the European Volleyball Confederation, along with sponsors and partners, plus officials of the various clubs and National Federations concerned will be attending the gala which is to be aired by ORF Sport and will be also available in live streaming at www.laola1.tv
With 24 and 16 teams already registered in the CEV Indesit Champions League for men and women respectively, the starting line-up for the 2009/2010 CEV Cups will be completed next weekend in Luxembourg as the members of the European Cups Commission (ECC) resume to the CEV headquarters located in the Grand Duchy to finalize the preliminary preparations for the next Cups season.
Mrs. Riet Ooms, CEV Vice President and ECC President, comments: “We are really pleased that for the first time ever the DOL of the CEV Cups will be public and televised. We should always keep in mind that very strong and competitive teams are entering all our Cups, so there is no reason to see any difference in their status. This event is going to serve as a real boost for promoting the European Cups across all sports fans. We are not simply aiming at targeting our traditional audience, we want more and more people to join our volleyball family and this gala is a real tool for achieving such an ambitious task as it combines a wonderful scenario with that little bit of anxiety deriving from the results of the Drawing that all the fans and clubs are so eagerly waiting for. Under 13 beat Treviso for Regional title

Antonveneta Padova: Coach Antonio Casarin defined it “the most unexpected victory but the greatest of all as coach too”. They realized indeed an unbelievable achievement, beating Treviso with a team put together only last September. It finished on a 3-1 score (23-25; 25-17; 18-25; 17-25). “I am extremely happy because this is the right reward at the end of a beautiful season" added the coach. The main players that made the difference were Zoppellari and Bassanello.

Marte Hoffiz explains new FIVB policy to President of Trinidad & Tobago

NORCECA President and FIVB First Executive Vice President Mr. Cristobal Marte Hoffiz was a special guest at a reception hosted by the President of Trinidad & Tobago, His Excellency Max Richards, in honor of the National Olympic Committee of his country.

Marte Hoffiz took the opportunity to explain to President Richards about the new direction in FIVB policy and the aspiration of FIVB President Jizhong Wei of supporting the elite sport with the synergistic development of Volleyball in emerging countries.

"The president praised the measures adopted by the FIVB, considering them to be beneficial for most of the countries in the NORCECA region, especially for those in the Caribbean islands," Marte Hoffiz said.

Marte Hoffiz was in Trinidad & Tobago for the two second-round tournaments of the 2010 FIVB World Championships. President Richards honored recently elected Olympic authorities from the islands with a reception at the Presidential House.

President Richards, accompanied by the First Lady Ms. Jean Ramjohn-Richards, said he is grateful of the assistance that NORCECA is providing to the organization of the Caribbean Games to be held here through July 13-19, and includes Volleyball and Beach Volleyball competitions under the confederation's supervision.

"President Richards is well informed about sports in general and he also showed a lot of interest about the participation of his country in the Central American and Caribbean Games next year in Puerto Rico," Marte Hoffiz said.

Marte Hoffiz was in the company of Mr. Michael Romany, new President of the Trinidad & Tobago Olympic Committee, past president Mr. Douglas Camacho, and OC Vice President Mr. Mushtaque Mohammed.
