The Argentina boys youth team continued their preparations for the first Youth Olympic Games later this year with a number of friendly matches in Italy. 

The team, coached by Juan Cichello, is looking to develop ahead of the inaugural competition from August 14-26 in Singapore.

The delegation left Argentina on June 22 arriving in Italy early on Wednesday morning. The team headed towards Quartaccio, a town half an hour from Rome downtown.

The games in Italy include three friendly matches against local junior teams, with the first one played on Thursday afternoon. The Argentine boys won the first and fourth sets despite going down 3-2. The next matches will take place next Monday and Tuesday.

From Friday to Sunday, the team will participate in a friendly three-team competition between the Italy, Argentina and the Czech Republic Team. First Argentina will play the Czech Team and then Italy.
